Welcome to the website of a working accordionist/vocalist.

I am a professional working accordionist/vocalist currently living in Jersey - Channel Islands - UK.

The major part of my work is entertaining holidaymakers in the top hotels on the island with my three hour one man show. In the summer, my show is on seven nights per week. I am billed as an International Accordionist Vocalist, with good reason as I cover music from around the world, with selected vocals in eight languages. In the world of entertainment, I'm using the accordion as my accompaniment, trying to get the best live backing for my show. I have performed in numerous countries world-wide including Australia, Sweden, Bermuda, America, France, Spain, Portugal, Austria and of course throughout the United Kingdom. Quite apart from entertaining the general public I also appear at Accordion Festivals, and as guest artiste at accordion clubs and societies, with a programme of accordion solos. To generate more interest in the accordion in the Channel Isles, quite apart from my professional work, I founded The "Jersey Accordion Band" and "Les Amis de l'Accordeon de Jersey" a social club to promote accordion music and better playing.

STEVE ROXTON WILL APPEAR AT EASTBOURNE FESTIVAL FEB 16TH TO 19TH '07

Following three very succesful concerts at Leyland Accordion Club, Stainton Memorial Hall for Middlesbrough Accordion Workshop and the Guildford Accordion Club, in the first three months of '06, Steve has been booked by John Romero to appear at the Eastbourne Accordion Festival, which takes place from the 16th to the 19th Feb '07. This will be Steve's first time at this festival, but his forthcoming appearance is already attracting attention. He is looking forward to the opportunity of not only demonstrating his considerable skill as an accordionist, but his talent as an entertainer. He will be playing his Ranco Balcan Eagle Imperial King accordion and enthusiasts will hear among other things "Luci et Ombre" "Russian Medleys" Scottish, Irish and some stunning French Musette pieces, as well as an unexpected highlight, The 1812 Overture. He will of course be singing ballads rock and roll and some German Bier Keller songs, along with some old favourites from his 3 CD's.

He is also making another CD with top French Accordionist JEAN DAUVIN. The two met at an event in St Helier, Jersey to celebrate the twinning with Avranches. Steve was happily performing several well known waltzes when he suddenly realised he was in stereo. Jean Dauvin, who had come over to the event to help his wife on her stall of French foods, had come up behind Steve with his continental chromatic and had joined in. The mixture was both instantaneous and magical. One could be forgiven for thinking that they must have rehearsed for hours together, but the truth is they had never met before. For two musicians to be so immediately in tune with each other is indeed very rare.Their CD, to be released shortly on the SCARAB INTERNATIONAL MUSIC label is a must for anyone who loves French accordion music...............
